Enabling Turnitin for Canvas Assignments

No installation required. 

Turnitin is now available in your course site.  

Set up a Turnitin assignment in Canvas

  1. Go to " Assignments" and click "+ Assignment".
  2. Enter an assignment name, directions and adjust assignment settings.
  3. Under "Submission Type", choose Online and select File Uploads.
  4. Scroll down, in Plagiarism Review,  select "Turnitin".
  5. Adjust Turnitin settings as needed (e.g., exclusions, indexing, report timing).
  6. Assign a due date.
  7. Click "Save".

Important: Restrict file types to formats Turnitin can check (e.g., pdf, doc, docx, etc).

  2. Click Edit.
  3. Under "Submission Type", make sure to select "Online" and select File Uploads.
  4. Scroll down, in Plagiarism Review, select "Turnitin".

  6. Assign a due date.
  7. Click "Save".
