Workshops

Teaching with Harvard Library Resources

Description: In this session, faculty will learn more about Harvard Library access, resources, services, and collections. We will provide an overview of how to use Library Reserves to make course materials available to your students, and also give a brief overview of HOLLIS, streaming media, databases, and ways to connect your students with research help.

Classroom Management for All Course Formats

Description: In this session, you will learn about different classroom management strategies for all of the course formats offered at DCE. Some of these strategies include setting the tone, norms and expectations, facilitating ice breakers, and ensuring students participate.

Setting Your Students Up For Success

Description: This session will tackle the Goldilocks problem of content in your class. What is the right amount of content that gives students what they need but doesn’t overwhelm them? What is the balance between transparency and building autonomy within your students? This session will give a step-by-step process on establishing the content — lectures and readings — and the organization and communication plan of your course.
