Training
- If you have never used Proctorio at DCE you are required to complete a one hour, one-to-one training appointment to ensure full understanding of the tool and appropriate settings.
- Visit our ITG webpage and select "Canvas Appointment".
- Enter Proctorio training in the comments section.
- Proctorio will be installed during the meeting.
Restrictions
- Proctorio can only be used with Canvas Classic Quizzes.
- Students and teaching staff must use a supported browser (Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, or Opera) with the Proctorio extension added to access Proctorio exams and quizzes.
- Proctorio results require review by teaching staff and administration to determine if an academic integrity issue occurred.
- Request Proctorio at least 10 days prior to your first exam or earlier/at the beginning of the semester.
- Requests for Proctorio must be made early to allow time to:
- Install the tool on your site.
- Import updated resources for students.
- Configure the proper settings.
- Give students at least 3-5 full business days to test their systems prior to the first quiz or exam using Proctorio.
-
Provide time for students to make computer system adjustments if they have trouble using Proctorio.
- To request a Proctorio install select "Hello Harvard" from your Canvas course site.
- For experienced users, email DCE_InstructionalTechnology@fas.harvard.edu to be put on our Proctorio Auto Install list.
Note: Proctorio requires a fresh install from ITG each semester. Importing Proctorio from a past course site can result in exam errors and out of date support documentation.
