Office Hours

Easily host Zoom office hours within your Canvas course site. 

Create office hour sign-ups in Canvas. Visit our guide to using Canvas Scheduler.

Step 1.

  • Navigate to Zoom on the course navigation menu.

Step 2.

  • Click on +Event under Course Events.

  • Select Office Hours and Held in Zoom

  • Select Recommended Setup.

IMPORTANT: Select Waiting Room ON.
Just like a physical office, students will have to be let into the meeting.
This ensures students won't accidentally enter and potentially hear sensitive information while you are in a meeting with a student


  • Click +Create Event

Step 5.

  • The office hours will appear under Course Events. 
  • You and students simply need to click Join at the appointed meeting time.
