Description: This session will explore how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is transforming education with real-world examples from Harvard and beyond. Participants will engage in hands-on activities- from content curation, multi-media asset generation, to role-play and other learning activity generation, to experiment how AI can enhance your course design strategies.

Improv for Educators: How To Bring a "Yes And" Approach Into Your Classroom

Description: In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how the tenets of improvisation can help foster a supportive learning environment. Participants will exercise active listening skills, embrace mistakes as a part of growth, learn through play, and reflect on how improv’s “yes, and” philosophy can be helpful in the classroom.

Learning Visualized: How Graphics and Information Design can Impact Your Course

Description: In this session we will explore the power of visuals for learning. From data visualization and infographics to creative illustrations, animation, and multimedia, we’ll examine how incorporating visual elements into your course can enhance students' retention, comprehension, and engagement. Learn how leveraging these tools can make your course content more accessible, effective, and compelling.

- Facilitator: Woden Teachout
Description: Join our lively "slam" workshop where instructors bring their favorite facilitation techniques to the table for a dynamic exchange of ideas. We are looking for openers (eg. silly handshakes, community agreements), ways to engage with the material (eg. fishbowl, drawing together) and ways to close (eg. round robin, word clouds, statement-and-question). Come ready to share a tried-and-true method (or just to learn) and leave with an exciting toolkit of new facilitation strategies to invigorate your sessions.

We will provide an overview of how to use the Library Reserves section in Canvas to make course materials available to your students, and also give a brief overview of HOLLIS, research guides, databases, and ways to connect your students with research help.

Description: Join us for an interactive faculty development workshop where educators will pair up to refine and enhance one of their assignments using a transparent teaching framework. This hands-on session equips participants with practical strategies to improve student engagement and success through clear and purposeful assignment design. Please bring an assignment you want to refine; if you don't have one, you'll get the opportunity to work on a colleague's assignment.
