T&L Canvas Term Start-Up FAQs

Piazza use at the Extension School ended as of April 2021 due to the change in terms of service and business model which does not comply with University and FERPA privacy and security policies.

DCE has a license Ed Discussion which is the replacement for Piazza.

All software tools and third-party websites not installed or provided by the Instructional Technology Group, DCE-IT, or HUIT must go through a vetting process as part of the enforcement of Extension School’s privacy and security policy. All software tools and third-party websites that do not go through the vetting process will be flagged and run the risk of being removed. Also note, we will not be able to support software tools and third-party websites that we do not already offer.

Add a TA or Teaching Staff

School policy does not allow us to add teaching assistants who are not officially attached to a course.

Direct teaching assistants/ staff to contact Faculty Engagement and Academic Affairs (FEAA) via email at DCE_AcademicAffairs@fas.harvard.edu about the status of TA appointments.

Welcome Videos

All Welcome Videos are handled by Course Design. If an instructor would like a welcome video to be made, they should complete a TEACH partnership application.

Post a link in their syllabus. The video will be available to public during shopping period.
