- The Default Homepage Layout (shown below) will display on all new CANVAS sites.
- Your existing layout will display when course content is copied from a prior CANVAS site.
- Choose an alternative layout (optional) on the Canvas Requests form
Layout Choices
Changing layouts for Canvas sites with existing content may require you to re-link all your content.
Homepage Layout
Your Canvas course site will display the Default Homepage layout on the front page unless a different design layout has been applied to the site.
Modules
The Modules front page option is best for organizing your content by date, topic, and/or unit.
- Organize your content in lists.
- Create content on the fly, or connect content you've already uploaded or built.
- Use the module's advanced options to control content release and set benchmarks.
Course Materials
This front page option is best for less content-heavy course sites.
- Pre-linked content pages for bios and resources, ready for you to fill in
- Easy to add and link to other Canvas pages.
Content Rich Navigation
The content-rich navigation option is best for organizing a course with weekly content.
- Front page with targeted, clear-cut navigation.
The class buttons may break if edited. Email Instructional Technology with instructions if a button or button label needs to be changed.
