For students with an approved extension of time or an officially approved accommodation for accessibility, you can add an additional due date and availability window in the "Assign to" area in a Canvas Assignment or Quiz.
Step 1.
- Navigate to the Canvas assignment or quiz.
Step 2.
- Click on the "Edit" button.
Step 3.
- Scroll down to the "Assign" field. Click on "+Add" at the bottom of the Assign to field.
Step 5.
- Type in the name of the student(s) in the new "Assign to" field.
- Enter the due date and availability window for the student(s).
IMPORTANT: You should see the original "Assign to" field change from "Everyone" to "Everyone Else". If you do not see "Everyone Else" you may have only assigned the assignment/exam to the student with the exception thereby removing all the other students' submissions.
Step 6.
- Click "Save".
Step 7.
- Confirm the extra time window for the students with exceptions appears in addition to the time window for the rest of the students in the class.
